HOUSE OF OLLICHON - LUXURY JUMPSUITS AND SEPARATES FOR COOL BRIDES

Earlier this week, I visited the gorgeous North London studio of House of Ollichon - the UK's only dress-less bridal brand. I spent the afternoon talking all things weddings and business with the brand's very stylish and utterly lovely founder Hannah Ollichon, who also talked me through the entire collection. Pretty much my ideal way to spend a Monday afternoon, and I'm thrilled to be sharing the collection with you today.

House of Ollichon is one of the coolest bridal brands in the country, and is the only brand to be completely dress-less - instead offering a selection of luxury bridal jumpsuits and separates. The brand is aimed at cool, fashion-conscious brides who want something that reflects their own style and personality more than a traditional wedding dress. Hannah keeps a print on the studio wall which perfectly encapsulates her ethos for bridal style - "be a special version of your normal self."

Le Grand Two Piece

Hannah was inspired to start House of Ollichon after her own wedding 5 years ago. Like many modern brides, she had two weddings - an intimate Town Hall legal ceremony and a 'big' wedding in France, her husband's homeland. With just 10 guests invited to the legal ceremony at Islington Town Hall, and a reception in a local pub, Hannah felt a traditional wedding dress would be too much for her UK wedding, but struggled to find anything suitable for a chilled-out, city bride. Having spotted a gap in the market, she left her job in the City and a year later, House of Ollichon launched, specialising in luxury bridal jumpsuits.

Bien Bridal Jumpsuit

Since its launch, the brand has evolved and the collection now includes a range of stylish bridal separates, all of which are fully interchangeable, alongside the ever growing range of jumpsuits. Whether you're getting married in a Town Hall, your local pub, or holding a festival wedding in a field - if you're looking for a cool, non-traditional but still recognisably bridal outfit, then you are going to LOVE House of Ollichon.

McNamara Top and LeFay Skirt

Each piece is made to order in London by Hannah's incredibly talented seamstress and the quality is stunning. Hannah sources the most beautiful silks, crepes and the best bridal lace from the Dentelle region in France. I've been a fan of House of Ollichon designs for a long time, but seeing the collection in person was a real game-changer for me. The quality and cut of each piece is incredible. The jumpsuits, tops and trousers are cut to flatter your shape perfectly, and the skirts move beautifully, whether they're full skirts just made for twirling or long, flowing maxis made of liquid-like silk. This is top quality bridalwear for the cool bride - it's stylish, flattering, fashionable and with prices around £800 for a jumpsuit, it's a really affordable alternative to a traditional wedding dress.

Lowry Bridal Jumpsuit and Chung Skirt

The bridal industry has changed dramatically over the past few years, and the high street bridal offering has come on leaps and bounds. Hannah, a truly savvy businesswoman as well as a talented designer, was ahead of the curve as bridal jumpsuits and separates have exploded in popularity in recent years. Whilst I love high street bridal ranges and think they have an important role in the modern bridal market, I think it's really important to stress the difference in cut and quality between a high street jumpsuit and a House of Ollichon piece. Each piece is handmade to order (in the UK!) with love and care, using the finest fabrics, to flatter and fit perfectly. Hannah's designs truly are affordable luxury for the modern bride.

The fact that Hannah was a real bride who founded the brand based her own experiences has really shaped the whole ethos of the business. This is not a traditional bridal brand - this is a brand designed by a modern woman for modern women. I've already mentioned the affordable prices and the fact that everything is handmade in the UK, but at every stage Hannah has really thought about what's really important to modern brides and making the whole experience a joy. The House of Ollichon studio is a stylish, but very relaxed environment. Appointments are 90 minutes long, instead of an hour, so you can feel comfortable and take your time trying on as many looks as possible while sipping Prosecco. Samples come in a size 8/10 and a 14/16, and Hannah goes out of her way to make sure every bride feels comfortable, happy and special during their appointment. There is a great variety of cuts, fits, necklines and lengths within the collection and she will help you to find the perfect style that really flatters your figure and personality. Each piece is designed to be as comfortable as it is beautiful, and there's no overly complicated or uncomfortable corsetry or fastenings. Even the range of shoes she keeps in the studio for brides to try on with their outfits are cool and fashionable, rather than traditional bridal shoes. As the sign says, her mission really is to make you feel like the most amazing version of yourself, whoever that might be.

The House of Ollichon Studio

House of Ollichon has grown from a boutique bridal jumpsuit brand designed for registry office weddings, to one of the UK's most exciting bridal brands. Whatever kind of wedding you're planning, if you want a cool, modern bridal look that feels every bit as special as a wedding dress, but just a bit more you, then this is a brand you must check out.
